Apply by Sept. 21 for $5,000 Sharing the Dream Grant

NAESP has again partnered with the MetLife Foundation to offer the Sharing the Dream grant program, which offers schools an opportunity to win a $5,000 grant to support global learning projects.

The Sharing the Dream grant program was launched in 2004 after the annual MetLife Survey of the American Teacher revealed a significant disconnect between the ways in which principals and other members of the school community view their schools and relationships with one another.

For 2013-2014, NAESP Foundation and MetLife Foundation are awarding 15 elementary and middle school principals with grants in two categories:

  • Sharing the Dream Grants: Five grants of $5,000 will be awarded for new projects that create globally oriented schools and international learning communities, and that engage children in transformative, multidisciplinary experiences and service learning projects.
  • Keep the Dream Going Grants: Ten grants of $5,000 will be awarded to past recipients of Sharing the Dream grants to grow and extend the reach of projects funded between 2003 and 2012.

The deadline for submitting proposals for both grant categories is September 21, 2013. Grants will be awarded mid-October, 2013. Applications and guidelines are available at sharingthedreamgrant.wordpress.com or by emailing sharingthedreamgrant@gmail.com.
