Experienced Principals: Review Applications for Natl. Board Certification for Principals

Make a meaningful contribution to the principalship by applying to be a reviewer for National Board Certification for Principals.

What It Is: The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that administers the National Board Certification for Principals, an evidence-based, voluntary assessment program to certify educators who meet the NBPTS Accomplished Principal Standards.

Together, NAESP and NBPTS are seeking experienced principals to review applications submitted by school leaders seeking this certification.

What We're Looking For: To be eligible, you must:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree and currently work as a principal;
  • Possess a valid required state license. If you work where a license is not required, you must have been a principal in schools recognized and approved to operate by the state and federal governments; and
  • Have completed three full years as a principal at the same state-supported school district or a school recognized and approved to operate by the state and federal governments.

How You'll Be Trained: A day-long training for reviewers will be held Tuesday, July 9 in Baltimore, before the NAESP convention. Accomodations, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

How You'll Benefit: Besides contributing to your profession, you'll receive an honorarium for training and scoring.

Register here by Wednesday, July 3.
