Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 budget, which proposes to slash nearly every education investment made by the federal government. While the Senate does not intend to vote on the Republican budget resolution passed in the House, this sets the stage for yet another budget battle this year between the two legislative chambers. Cuts will almost definitely will be taken from the Department of Education budget. The only questions remaining is how large these cuts will be and at what point during the 2012-13 school year they will be realized?
