NAESP Urges Congress to Support School Modernization Bill

NEASP, along with over 170 other organizations, recently urged Congress to support the Fix America’s Schools Today (FAST) Act. The Act would invest $30 billion to update unhealthy and unsafe learning environments and modernize outdated school facilities. States would receive funding based on student enrollment, with $5 billion reserved for community colleges.

A vote in the U.S. Senate on the FAST Act may occur after the holidays, but reaching out to your members of Congress in support of this bill is critical. Contact your Senator today and tell them how modernized facilities and resources would make your school a better place for students to learn.

The FAST Act (S. 1597 and H.R. 2948) was introduced by Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT). The bill currently has over 100 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives, and 13 co-sponsors in the Senate.
