New Flexibility Offered to States Implementing Teacher and Principal Evaluations

Yesterday, Secretary Duncan sent a letter to all state education chiefs outlining the Department’s offer for additional flexibility as states implement college and career ready standards. NAESP applauds this announcement as it responds to the transition period called for in a recent statement issued by the association in partnership with AASA, NASBA, and NASSP. To read more about this new offer for the ESEA waiver states, read the letter to the chiefs below. NAESP wants to know what principals think if your state applies to participate in the transition period to new assessments – how will you and your schools be supported? Send an email to advocacy@naesp.org and let us know!
