Principals on Capitol Hill; Support Their Efforts to Improve ESEA

In order to advocate for new policies that will give principals the tools they need to function as effective school leaders, K-8 educators from around the nation have gathered for a conference in the nation’s capital to discuss the upcoming ESEA reauthorization. During NAESP’s Federal Relations Conference, which takes place Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Alexandria, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., participants will meet with legislators to discuss two legislative recommendations that affect schools and principals every day: investing in early childhood development and high-quality principal mentoring programs.

Get Involved:
Support your colleagues in their efforts on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 1, by sending your federal legislators an e-mail through NAESP's Legislative Action Center. Your e-mail will strengthen the collective voice of principals and will reinforce the message that your colleagues leave in their face-to-face meetings. It’s easy to do; all you need is your login information for the NAESP website. Watch our video tutorial on how to use the Legislative Action Center and download detailed instructions. Be sure to use the issue sheets on NAESP’s two legislative recommendations (investing in early childhood development and high-quality principal mentoring programs) as you craft your message.
