Gail Connelly Named Chair of Learning First Alliance

NAESP Executive Director will serve as 2012-13 chair of the Learning First Alliance, a partnership of 16 education associations.

NAESP Executive Director Gail Connelly has been named 2012-13 chair of the Learning First Alliance Board of Directors. The Learning First Alliance (LFA) is a partnership of 16 leading education associations, including NAESP, with more than 10 million members. LFA is dedicated to improving student learning in America's public schools.

“Gail Connelly embodies so many of the qualities that are of paramount importance to our organization,” said Cheryl Williams, LFA executive director. “Over the past 30 years she has built invaluable expertise in working with educational leaders, communities, parents and schools toward the common goal of improving our nation’s public education system and guaranteeing every child a quality education. We look forward to Connelly’s leadership on our board.”

Connelly’s year-long term started July 1.
