Longtime NAESP Staff Member & Friend Passes Away

Longtime NAESP Staff Member & Friend Passes Away

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Ann Henley, NAESP associate exectuive director of Membership and Marketing Services, has passed away.

She had served in various roles as an NAESP staff member for many years. In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, she admired, supported, encouraged, and loved elementary and middle-level principals, often saying, “Being a principal is more than a profession; it’s a passion.”

Furthermore, her support of school leaders, specifically the NAESP state representatives, and of public education is a major part of her legacy.

Ann was a true friend to everyone she met. A loving and compassionate person, Ann will be greatly missed.

Mass for Christian burial will be held for Ann on Friday, April 12 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Annandale, Virginia. Additional details can be found here.

Please join me in keeping her family and many friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
L. Earl Franks, Ed.D., CAE
NAESP Executive Director

To immortalize her contributions to NAESP and our members, we are creating the Ann Henley NAESP Annual Conference Scholarship, which will be awarded each year to an NAESP member who has never attended a National Association of Elementary School Principals annual conference. Details about how to apply can be found here.
