The book, released this week, provides specific, research-based, and actionable steps principals can take to develop and lead a PLC. Richard DuFour and Rebecca DuFour challenge principals not to ask, “Will I make a difference?” but instead to question “What difference will I make?”
This book succinctly and comprehensively shares how to build and maintain a successful PLC. K-8 principals will learn how to:
- Erect the foundation of a PLC, create structures for collaboration, and transform groups into high-performing collaborative teams;
- Focus on providing a guaranteed and viable curriculum and on results, monitoring each student’s learning through ongoing assessment and helping teams improve individual and collective practice;
- Ensure high levels of learning for all by responding to struggling learners through effective intervention and providing students with enrichment opportunities; and
- Sustain school improvement and build leadership capacity throughout the school.
