Principals from Across U.S. to Build Playground at Prince George’s County, Md. School
Community Service Day Part of NAESP 2016 Annual Conference
Reston, VA—June 28, 2016—Elementary and middle-level principals from around the nation will volunteer their time to build a playground at Princeton Elementary School during the National Association of Elementary School Principals’ (NAESP) eighth annual Community Service Day.
The project is part of NAESP’s 2016 Best Practices for Better Schools Annual Conference & Exposition, to be held July 6-8 at National Harbor, Maryland. The project is sponsored by NAESP and playground equipment manufacturer and corporate partnerLandscape Structures. Landscape Structures is donating a Smart Play: Venti® playstructure, which features nets, slides, belts, and climbers to promote the physical development, strategic thinking and social skills of children ages 5 to 12. The playstructure is ADA compliant and inclusive of all children, regardless of their abilities.
Princeton Elementary School serves a diverse population of 360 pre-K through grade 6 students. It is a comprehensive elementary school where students and staff are building a bridge to success to be GREAT by choice. The highly qualified staff is committed to providing every child the chance to perform at high levels and to be on track for college and careers. Princeton Elementary is led by principal HeNina Bunch. “All students deserve a safe and stimulating environment to learn and play. I’m so honored that Princeton Elementary is a recipient of this playground,” Bunch said. “It means even more to me that principals nationwide have come together to give back to a local community.”
What: K-8 principals from around the nation will help to build an inclusive playground at Princeton Elementary School in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Where: The service project will take place at Princeton Elementary School, 6101 Baxter Drive, Suitland-Silver Hill, Maryland 20746.
