Tennessee Principal Assumes Presidency of National Association of Elementary School Principals

Alexandria, VA—August 23, 2017—Brian K. Partin, principal of Ross N. Robinson Middle School in Kingsport, Tennessee, has assumed the role of President of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). Partin began this one-year term leading the Association’s Board of Directors on August 1, 2017, after serving as vice president and president-elect.
“Principals are passionate about leadership and serving their school communities. I know first-hand the significance of leading learning—for students, for staff, and for the community,” said Partin. “I’m proud to lead an organization that nurtures principals through advocacy and support in the critical roles they play in their school communities.”
Partin has been a member of NAESP since 2003, serving on the Bylaws Review Committee from 2012 to 2013. He has also been a member of the Tennessee Principals Association since 2003, serving as president from 2009 to 2011.
Before becoming principal of Ross N. Robinson Middle School in 2015, Partin was principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary, principal of Crieve Hall Elementary, and assistant principal of Andrew Jackson Elementary.
Partin holds an Ed.S. in administration and supervision from Lincoln Memorial University, an M.Ed. in educational administration and supervision from Tennessee State University, and a B.A. in elementary education from Anderson University. He is currently pursuing his doctorate of education in learning organizations and strategic change from Lipscomb University.
