In addition to professional development, Title II-A enables districts and states to build principal pipelines and pathways into the profession, and to boost innovative programs that provide clinical-based preparation for principal candidates. 

The Trump Administration has proposed to eliminate Title II-A funding in the FY20 Budget, while the House Appropriations Committee has advanced legislation to increase funding for the program by $500 million.
