Committee for Education Funding

NAESP is a member of the Committee for Education Funding (CEF), the largest and oldest education coalition in the nation. CEF’s mission is to promote robust financial support for our nation’s education system and represents 114 education associations, institutions, agencies and organizations whose interests range from preschool to postgraduate education in both private and public systems. CEF releases an annual Budget Book with details on CEF priorities and budget charts. The most recent FY 2016 Budget Book can be accessed here.


US Department of Education

President Trump released his FY19 budget on February 12, 2018. The US Department of Education’s website houses the accompanying budget charts and commentary. The Department also maintains Budget History tables containing Presidential budget requests, Congressional appropriations and state level funding levels for all programs from FY 1980 to FY 2018 where available.
 

US Congress

The US House and Senate Appropriations Committees have primary responsibility for deciding department-level and program-level funding for the Federal government.  Their websites provide information about the appropriations process and current appropriations bills being considered.
