NAESP has a meaningful seat at the legislative table where major educational and budgetary discussions take place.  I have had the opportunity to walk in the halls of Capitol Hill to advocate on behalf of principals and the millions of students whom we serve. As educators and school administrators, we must continue to be vigilant and visible to ensure that we provide pertinent input in educational decisions that affect us all.  NAESP provides that opportunity.

As a new member of NAESP, it is empowering to meet individuals from national and international learning communities. I became a member because I believe that you must maximize your resources. With that being said, it is important that we not only acquire new information, but fundamentally understand how to apply the information acquired. Relationships are key, and I look forward to the collaborative journey ahead to effectively educate all students.

My NAESP member experience can be compared to having an expert guide lead you on a new adventure. I became a member because an excellent principal in Nashville, who is also a member, asked me to join. Knowing that such a highly respected principal was part of this professional organization inspired me to be a part of it, as well. I know that I can lean on her, as well as other NAESP members, to help me navigate my first couple of years in my principalship, and that means a lot to me! Thank you, Marsha Dunn, for showing me the way!

NAESP has changed my perspective on principalship! As a leader, my responsibility is first to my students and teachers, but also to my colleagues and fellow principals. We are each others' advocates, voice and most reliable collaborators and support. NAESP's strategic goals highlight the pivotal need of principal professional growth and shared experience to foster school growth and excellence in student learning.

I have been a member of NAESP since I became a principal 11 years ago. NAESP has connected me to outstanding principals throughout the country. Through collaboration and connectivity, I have become a better leader. It's great learning from colleagues in other parts of the country who are experiencing similar issues and discussing innovative solutions to these issues. I also value the advocacy that NAESP provides principals at the national level, giving us a voice on important education policies.

NAESP has provided me with a network of friends that have mentored me and helped me to be the best principal possible. I love the ideas I have been able to implement into my school from the different conferences and publications sponsored by NAESP.

NAESP, through the website and communications, has provided resources that have helped me learn to be a better principal. The NAESP Conference has allowed me to make connections and develop a network to get more ideas and help when needed.

NAESP and IAESP have been so valuable to me as an elementary school principal. The conferences and materials have helped me grow as a professional. What is the most beneficial to me has been the relationships with other principals from around Idaho, Zone 9 and the country. Collaborating with outstanding principals has made me a better leader.

My membership in NAESP has played a vital role in my growth as a leader. Principal magazine, with articles written by colleagues from across the country, is something that I eagerly look for in my mailbox. It provides me with cutting-edge information and true best practices to consider and implement at my school, such as Principal Adam Welcome's article on coding in school. As a leader in a rural area, being an NAESP member is more than a membership - for me it's a lifeline to leading my school. Meaningful professional development, resources available on the web and through publications, and relationships with great leaders across the country have enabled me to continue to grow, share and lead.

The job of a principal is a lonely one...wait, no it isn't! I'm a member of several professional organizations, and each has a little something about them that compels me to join. NAESP is the organization of which I am MOST appreciative because of ALL that it offers. It is remarkable to have a such a large group of people as an instantaneous support/professional learning group. We are all in the same boat, working under more constraints (and more stress).

NAESP gives us a networking platform to work together, along with providing us with resources to help us be successful at our jobs. It is so reassuring to have a problem at school and to be able to go online and connect with a fellow principal, or to have professional resources available at my fingertips! I wish I had known of NAESP as a beginning principal. I would have taken advantage of all of the support that is offered to a novice principal. Joining NAESP is a professional life-changer!

I appreciate the many ways that NAESP provides continuous support to administrators through relevant professional development opportunities. Through the different association publications, web-based resources, conferences and collaboration with fellow principals across the country I can remain on the forefront of important topics. I would like to mention a special thank you to the NAESP staff who quickly and graciously answer my phone calls and emails. What an amazing group of leaders!

Joining NAESP has been one of the best professional decisions I could have made as a urban school principal. I have had the opportunity to meet amazing principals from around the country who share in my passion to change the world one student at a time. NAESP has allowed me to grow professionally and personally each year when I attend the NAESP Best Practices Conference. I am truly a better person and principal because of NAESP! :)

NAESP has afforded me the opportunity to partner with leaders from across the nation in educating, elevating, and empowering our 21st century learners. Being a part of the NAESP Family has been rewarding and affirming in leading within my community. NAESP and UAESP (the Utah Association) give me ways to network with other principals and ideas to make me more effective as a school leader and as a leader in the community. The association provides me with innovative ways to help my school.

It has been my good fortune to have been a member of NAESP for the past several years. One of the best parts has been getting to know and work with my peers from Zone 7 and others across the United States. I have served on a couple of national committees and highly recommend it.

One of the highlights of the National Conference is Service Project day. Rolling up your sleeves and working alongside NAESP members and staff members is very rewarding. I have made professional connections and friendships through this project. It is powerful to have a peer group that extends beyond your own state and local areas. I applaud Landscape Structures and NAESP for their continued support of Service Day. Seeing the gratitude of those who are receiving the new playground and landscaping upgrades makes it all worthwhile.

Our state is fortunate to have a National Board Member. This has helped me better understand how hard NAESP works on our behalf. I would encourage everyone to consider serving on the national board.

Finally, thanks to the NAESP staff. I can honestly say that I have been well taken care of. The NAESP staff truly does care about those whom they serve!

NAESP has helped me make connections with principals from all over the United States. I am able to keep in touch with them and find out about what is going on in other states. I especially have made connections with principals in my Zone. I also have gained lots of valuable information by attending the yearly NAESP convention. I have tried to become involved and active in NAESP, and these experiences continue to help me grow as a principal.

Joining NAESP has helped me stay abreast of current policy issues related to education. NAESP also provides a myriad of resources to ensure that school leaders are well-informed about the impact of federal policies and their implications. I realize now, more than ever, the critical role principals play in letting their voices be heard amongst policy makers. Thanks to NAESP, I have become a better advocate for children.

It's nice to be a part of a group that supports what is most important—the students. We, as administrators, need to support one another to make sure that we give every student the opportunity to succeed and to help each other succeed, as well. The support system is in place, let's take advantage of it.

I have been a member of NAESP for many years and can definitively state that it is the most comprehensive professional organization for administrators and an absolute must for all elementary principals. NAESP offers the best cutting-edge professional development and resources that are essential for principals to keep current in our ever-changing profession. Principal magazine is always full of new, innovative programs and practices that are designed by practitioners and can be easily implemented in schools. NAESP also offers free professional development webinars and multiple online learning opportunities where practitioners can share best practices. NAESP’s Annual Conference is simply the best professional conference you will ever attend with hands-on, interactive workshops and showcasing the most relevant researchers and authors in the field.

I have experienced many benefits through my NAESP membership. Timely and relevant professional development has been helpful.  From Principal magazine to the NAESP website and the national conference, NAESP supports my needs as an instructional leader. Networking with peers from my zone and from around the nation has provided an invaluable opportunity to create relationships that I am able to lean on and to learn from.  As a member of NAESP, I appreciate that my voice is heard at both the state and national levels on the issues that matter most to me as a principal.

I am grateful to be a member of NAESP. I find that my membership brings many opportunities to grow professionally, attend conferences and continually refine what I do as an education leader. As our national organization advocates for principals, we are more fully able to also represent our teachers and students. The best part of being a member is the chance to rub elbows with other principals across the country. I have built associations and garnered friendships that I cherish. Three cheers for NAESP!

The best part of being a member of NAESP is the national presence of this organization.  I was pleasantly surprised and pleased to learn about the integral part NAESP played in developing ESSA. Having recently attended NAESP’s National Leaders Conference for the first time, it was great see first-hand the coordination efforts for getting us a front row seat with lawmakers.  NAESP makes me, an Ohio principal from a small, rural school, feel like I have a voice in this great big system.

I joined NAESP to stay abreast of educational research and current trends in education. I look forward to my monthly Principal magazine, and find the articles to be informative, interesting and always timely. As a principal, the time available for professional growth is precious, and this scholarly publication gives me quick articles with central themes that are very easy to navigate. Principal magazine delivers articles that I can immediately use to inform my practice and help grow my staff and students.

NAESP has provided me with resources that assist me in understanding the principalship at a more global level. The National Conference is always a time to meet people in positions like mine from across the country and learn how they are dealing with issues similar to mine, in a different geographic location.

I joined NAESP because I am continually learning, and what better way to learn than from my peers. NAESP provides me with great connections and a learning network.  Being a member has kept me up to date on the latest developments as well as best practices. We have a big task as leaders and NAESP is a great resource as we travel along this amazing journey and hopefully will allow us to have a bigger impact on those we serve.

There are two significant reasons that I joined NAESP. One was to enhance my professional network, and the second was broadening my knowledge of my profession. I would recommend that every elementary principal invest in their national association. The return on my investment is certainly worth the cost.

I joined NAESP for my own professional growth and am so happy that I did.  The resources that I have through my membership have allowed me to learn about effective practices and kept me informed on current issues in education.  I feel "virtually" connected with other principals around the country through the variety of connection opportunities that NAESP provides through their online resources. I am so appreciative of this organization and look forward to the many learning opportunities that it will continue to provide me.

I have only been an NAESP member for a few years and I love it!  I get to collaborate with my peers, as well as other professionals. I am a principal in a small, rural school district and NAESP provides the resources I need to do my job better than I could ever imagine.  I have taken advantage of many membership opportunities, and even joined the National Panel of New Principals. This has allowed me to share the good, the bad, and the “I got this” kind of things with other new principals. I attended the NAESP Conference in Long Beach, and was overwhelmed at the support, leadership, and valuable ideas that I came home with.  I look forward to others joining NAESP and becoming a part of such a prestigious and supportive group.

I joined NAESP initially for its resources. What I found is a great organization that allows me to connect with other professionals to help support my own professional growth. NAESP’s advocacy team ensures that our schools and students are getting the right support and accountability. I appreciate all that NAESP does for me as a professional and the relationships that I have built with others in the field.

I feel like NAESP's mission is to serve me. All conferences, publications, professional learning, mentoring, webinars, etc., are designed with the elementary principal in mind, so everything is relevant and timely to my work. NAESP is my primary resource for everything!
