Being a member of NAESP has allowed me to form friendships with some of the best principals across the country. All of the people I have met at conferences and meetings have become lifelong friends. I am lucky to be able to reach out to so many talented people for anything. NAESP also provides me with the latest information on all of the happenings in education. The staff is helpful, friendly and efficient. NAESP is a first-class organization!

I am proud to belong to NAESP. I believe strongly that the organization works hard on behalf of our students and schools. I believe that the more members we have; the stronger our voice is heard. Our students staff and schools need the leadership, education and advocacy that NAESP provides. I look forward to learning from others through the website, conferences and professional development. NAESP and the publications keep me more informed and in the know. I have definitely enhanced my knowledge through my membership in NAESP.

As a member of NAESP I have been fortunate to be connected with leading educators and ideas nationwide. Being a principal in a rural area makes professional development opportunities a bit limited, but through my membership with NAESP I have been exposed to lead learners and innovative practices without having to travel long distances. I know that through my growth I am providing the staff and students around me with continued opportunities and development.

I joined NAESP because of their reputation for being a kids/teacher-first organization!  The opportunity to collaborate through email and at conferences expands my own learning and provides me with the encouragement necessary to stay focused on our students and staff rather than distracted by the many other parts of the administrative job.  I highly encourage both new and veteran educators to make NAESP membership a must.

I am a member of NAESP because I believe in the impactful role of the principal in a school and community.  A quality organization such as NAESP helps me be the best principal I can be!

Because I am a hands-on principal who works tirelessly in my school and community, I am limited on the time I have to monitor the legislative process as it relates to my role as principal.  NAESP gives me confidence that an organization has a watchful eye and will advocate for principals regarding national legislation.

My membership with NAESP is a rewarding partnership that has afforded me new friendships with colleagues outside of my district and state. Attending the NAESP conferences allows me to interact with peers and expand my knowledge base.  These interactions help me foster a more effective learning environment for all who enter our school and build upon my creativity as an instructional leader so I feel better equipped to work with staff, student, and parents.

Becoming a mentor in the NAESP Principal Mentor Program reminded me of my first years in leadership and made me realize the importance of supporting people new to the field of learning and teaching.  It also validated my work ethic and has strengthened me as a leader. The mentor program helps build strong relationships and an effective network of colleagues who have the same concerns and can offer a variety of strategies to alleviate those concerns.  The friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime!

Being a member of NAESP has changed my life on a personal and professional level, and I am forever grateful for my colleagues for encouraging me to join!  As a new administrator, I was strongly encouraged by my mentoring principal to join our local, state, and national associations.   As a result, I was able to experience a professional network unlike any other.  Having the opportunity to meet and connect with colleagues from across my state and the nation during our state and national conferences has been an invaluable asset to me as an administrator and one I would encourage others to pursue – you won’t be disappointed!

When I was an assistant principal, the best advice my principal ever gave me was to join NAESP. The networking with principals I have met from across the United States has helped me to be the educational leader that I am today. Through their advice and suggestions, I have continued to learn new strategies that have made a huge impact on student achievement at the school where I have the good fortune as serving as the principal for the past 13 years. The Report to Parents is a great resource to share with parents to help them meet the educational needs of their children.   The annual National Principals Conference allows me to learn from the best practitioners in the world while also spending time sharing and growing with my colleagues and friends. I encourage any aspiring principal, assistant principal, and principal to join NAESP and observe first-hand the difference it will make in your professional and personal life.

Actions speak louder than words and NAESP's successful advocacy on behalf of Pre-K-8 students and principals is exemplary.  NAESP's voice is sought, respected, and listened to as part of the national education reform debate in Washington, DC.  The proof is in the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) that provides an unprecedented number of opportunities to support the role of principals to serve as catalysts for reform and continuous improvement.

The NAESP National Principal Mentor Program is an essential component of our District leadership development model. This structure allows experienced principals to support colleagues through reflective questioning and meaningful dialogue regarding practical leadership topics.  As a result, mentors and protégés engage in reciprocal learning experiences that strengthen instructional knowledge and leadership skills throughout the District.

Being a principal in a small rural district, NAESP has been my "go to" resource for the professional growth I have needed throughout my career. As a beginning principal, I used NAESP's resources and networking opportunities to support my efforts. Throughout my professional career, NAESP has followed through with its commitment to support me as a building level principal.

NAESP has been a guide for my principalship the past 12 years, connecting me with resources on best practices and with colleagues implementing best practices around the country. This has all resulted in helping my school, Grainwood Elementary, earn the MN Department of Education's highest school rank, "Reward" school status, for the first time ever in 2016. So happy to be part of a school committed to collaboration and living a school culture focused on student learning.

Quality instructional leadership is a byproduct of quality professional development, as well as a comprehensive and supportive professional network. NAESP provides both. Since joining NAESP, I have benefited from great professional development through its publications and conferences, and strengthened my professional network by building meaningful relationships with other elementary principals from all over the country.

As a new(er) principal entering her 3rd year as a school principal, I was looking for an organization that would not only work to advocate for school administrators, but would also be a source of professional development. This year, I decided to attend the NAESP conference to strengthen my practice and performance. I knew that by improving my practice, I would improve outcomes for my students. By the end of the first day, I knew that NAESP was the right organization for me and plan to join as soon as I return to my building. Thank you for a wonderful conference!

Being an elementary principal is seriously the best job in the world. Connecting with other principals through Twitter, NAESP membership, and conference attendance is critical to my professional growth and relevance as a servant-leader.  As if that wasn't enough, the articles in Principal magazine are timely and transformative.

Being a member of NAESP has allowed me to network with elementary school leaders from around the country. Even before I became a principal, I knew the importance of building relationships with other school leaders from whom I could learn and who would know what my daily challenges are like. In addition to these relationships, the advocacy that NAESP provides at the national level is priceless. NAESP is our voice on legislative and educational issues at the national level.

NAESP's National Principal Mentor Program has done more than help me mentor new principals. The coaching, listening, probing and problem solving skills that I acquired while in the program have enhanced my leadership skills. The principal mentoring experience has helped create a supportive, focused, tight-knit community of leaders that has resulted in an increase in morale and intrinsic satisfaction. Being a member of NAESP and a part of the mentoring program is definitely a professional development experience worth pursuing.

“It has been my experience that making a connection with everyone in the field of education only strengthens one’s resolve. Becoming a member of NAESP has made that possible for me. Meeting, talking and networking, either on the phone or in person, has been very rewarding for me. In my 50 years in education, I have reached out to our local and national association and have found them to be very helpful.  I would encourage all principals to support their local and national associations and, in turn, become stronger advocates for kids.”

I have found NAESP to be very helpful as I continue to grow as an administrator. While attending the last two National Leadership Conferences, I gained knowledge about federal laws and saw the effort that NAESP puts into advocating for principals at the federal level. Participating in the last two NAESP Conferences helped me to understand how things are not that different in other states as it pertains to the everyday ins and outs of being an elementary principal. NAESP has given me a real sense of the things that go into doing this job the best that I can.

In a small state like Wyoming, principal professional development is almost nonexistent. Our state organization and NAESP provide some of the best professional development, year after year, for principals.  Additionally, the networking opportunities give principals the opportunity to learn from colleagues, and the resources that NAESP offers are great tools for principals.  Two of my personal favorites are Before the Bell and Report to Parents. I always find pertinent information to send on to colleagues or parents through these publications.

After having been a secondary school educator during the first 18 years of my career, I was significantly enlightened through NAESP resources when I became an elementary school administrator in 1976 and joined NAESP. Two of NAESP's publications, Principal magazine and Communicator, as well as the Report to Parents, were valuable tools for me. Maximize your growth and development opportunities. Make NAESP membership your priority. Don't begin your 2016-2017 year without it!

Joining NAESP has allowed me to grow professionally and personally beyond any measure that I would have anticipated. Becoming an NAESP Certified Principal Mentor and Coach has changed my outlook on the importance of being mentored by a senior NAESP Mentor Coach and honing my own skills to become an effective mentor on a daily basis. The professional networking and experience is second to none.
